Customer wanted to change from hydraulic operators to electric on nine 30″ cone valves. The valves could not be removed from the building because of size and space limitations and the valve manufacturer advised that it would be nearly impossible to automate on-site. A further complication – the valves could be out of service for only a limited time.

A team of skilled RMI professionals reviewed the current method of operation and the changes needed to the gear actuator to accommodate the new electric actuator. RMI rebuilt the entire gear actuator, installed the new electric operator and commissioned it with the new controls, all on-site. As a result, the owner called on RMI for retrofits on two pump stations.
